Chutzpah During (and after) a Pandemic
We have all been impacted by COVID-19 on both personal and work levels. Many millions of people have lost their jobs, income, and businesses, been diagnosed with the virus, or lost loved ones. There are very few degrees of separation between us and someone we know who has suffered personally in some significant way.
Our hearts go out to these people and we’ll work together for a quick economic recovery.
Our Business Challenge Today: Organizations have been disrupted, even those that are still operating at some level. Every group event has been canceled, leaving confusion and uncertainty in its wake. We are all impacted by missed targets, canceled hands-on training, reduced productivity, and the fear of losing our jobs as this crisis continues.
Attending live conferences - canceled.
On-hold: In-person educational seminars.
Training - not as high a priority in some organizations at the moment.
Eliminated: frequent staff meetings around a table - and we spent so much on that expensive conference room! (I can tell some of you are not as devastated by this loss.)
The development of our most valuable asset, our people, is lagging.
It is an exceptional time to add some “chutzpah” in the face of these unprecedented challenges.
And I would be honored to teach your team
The Chutzpah Rules.
Focusing on those things we can still control is paramount.
Our Opportunity to Make A Measurable Difference: Online virtual events need to be considerably more effective for our teams. Even though they won’t permanently replace in-person relationship development, personal camaraderie, or the benefits of interactive and live events, virtual training is our best tool at the moment.
Let’s maximize this tool’s benefit.
These events, at a time when most budgets are being cut to preserve cash in this time of uncertainty, have to provide an immediate return on your investment.
Your commitment to inspiring creativity, generating out-of-the-box solutions from team members, maintaining your organization’s supportive culture, and motivating your most valuable assets, is a message to your team. And it provides an indisputable ROI for your organization both now and when life returns to normal.
